On January 24th 2014, Michelle & Richard set up Forever Stars and on Friday 9th May 2014 Forever Stars were officially given the charity status with the Charity Commission in England.
After lots of fundraising efforts and corporate support, Forever Stars raised £115k and opened their first bereavement suite, named ‘The Serenity Suite’ at the Queen’s Medical Centre.
The charity also provides reading material to support families and help the grieving process become more manageable. They also, where possible, help fund the additional training required for midwifery team members at NUH.
On February 9th 2018, Forever Stars announced their next exciting project, the ‘Forever In Bloom’ Appeal to develop the Forever Stars Remembrance Garden as a place for bereaved parents to reflect, relax and remember.
Emma at MaxPlant tackled the warrior assault course at Holme Pierrepont on 9th June to raise money towards this amazing charity and new project. MaxPlant donated £1000 towards the event and Emma and her group raised nearly £6000. Amazing!
Yappy Ever After Dog Rescue
Yappy ever after is registered with the Charities Commission and works by saving both UK dogs in need as well as dogs from countries such as Romania, Serbia, Cyprus and many more.
All their dogs are placed into foster homes for assessment periods and not kennels. These periods last for a minimum of 2 weeks, but can go on for months, depending on the individual dog’s issues.
We all at MaxPlant want to say a huge well done to Paul Meakin. Paul and his friends took on the journey of a lifetime climbing Mount Everest in September 2017. Here you can see images of Paul and co with our MaxPlant banner at Everest base camp. We are so proud to support other make a difference. In total Paul raised over £1500 for Yappy Ever After.
Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner whilst providing cancer information to the public. The charity raises money towards beating cancer, every pound donated is a step closer. Cancer Research UK carries out world-class research to help beat cancer every day.
Greg Brighouse wanted to do his bit to help raise money for Cancer Research UK, an amazing organisation constantly researching to try and find a cause for this terrible illness.
On 6th June, Greg began his journey to climb 19,340 ft. to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
MaxPlant donated £1000 pushing Greg’s total to just over £13,000 – Amazing!
Darley Boxing and Luke Gallear
Luke Gallear, Ex Professional boxer, set up Darley Boxing amateur club two years ago.
Starting the club was a way to give back to the community and support anyone who wants to give boxing a go. The club is open to anyone from as little as 4 years old to adult. He also holds fitness classes in the club.
Maxplant has sponsored and supported Luke and Darley Boxing club for the last 18-months. Maxplant have supported the club by donating prizes, providing punch bag brackets and a new boxing ring for the club.
Maxplant are also very proud to sponsor Conar Blackshaw, an up and coming professional boxer from Derby.
